“Everything good in my life has been anchored to my faith in Christ. He is the source of joy, hope, and peace. In Him we find mercy that transforms our tomorrows and wipes away the stains of yesterday.”
Born and raised in the desert southwest in a middle-class mining family, Walter Hill joined the U.S. Navy just days after high school graduation to explore the world beyond his small town. During deployments across Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East, Walter discovered his natural gift for communicating faith—a talent that set the stage for his life’s calling.
After his honorable discharge, Walter began full-time ministry, leading his first congregation at just 28 years old. Over the past 26 years, he has pastored four congregations in three Rocky Mountain states, planted a church, and now serves as Lead Pastor at Wellsprings Vineyard Church in Casper, Wyoming. With a ministry rooted in thoughtful storytelling and profound insights, Walter invites others to rediscover hope, deepen their faith, and embrace the joy and abundant life Christ offers.
Walter’s latest book, Amazed Again (releasing March 1, 2025), helps readers uncover the source of true joy, experience the beauty of God’s love, and find new meaning in church and worship. Married for 34 years, Walter is a proud husband, father to two adult children, and grandfather to one.
I have personally known Walt Hill for over 25 years, in friendship and in ministry. I have had Walter come to our church several times to minister the Word, and he always brings incredible revelation, encouragement, and the profundity that he has been known for all the years that we have been friends. His experiences and deep understanding of the Word of God challenges people to higher standards and often great conviction to following Jesus more intimately. The fact that he has written a book is shocking, but only for the reason that it hasn’t been done a lot sooner and only gives greater opportunity for the world to hear from this man of God.
